Program Overview

The Online Master of Arts in Education with Early Childhood and Special Education from East Bridge College provides interdisciplinary training for teaching jobs in the early childhood sector with particular emphasis on Special Education. This course prepares you to effectively teach students of mixed abilities in both general and inclusive classrooms from grades 1 to 5. With an aim to link pedagogical theory and practice, the program has been designed in a way to enable you to work collaboratively to deliver a quality education to children in both general and special education settings.

This advanced program draws attention to the varied aspects of special education in an early childhood setting. You will be introduced to the ways children are understood from a range of academic and professional perspectives and the viewpoints behind early childhood learning, beliefs and attitudes. The focus on children with special needs and/or disabilities will widen your knowledge base regarding inclusion and diversity in the early years and develop skills to apply effective strategies to teach learners with additional needs. Studies on early childhood pedagogical strategies suggest that educators need to be aware of the individual needs of children and provide resources accordingly which will stimulate their thinking and aid them in achieving their learning goals.

Upon completion of the Master in Education with Early Childhood & Special Education, you will be able to:

  • Acquire exhaustive knowledge in educational psychology and childhood theories, developmental aspects of children and their holistic growth.
  • Aid young learners to work in a self-paced manner and level them with suitable support and intervention and review learners necessitating a slower pace.
  • Recognize disabilities and strategize lesson plans apt for learners with varying disabilities in an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Get a grip on the strategies to address the various intellectual, emotional, and behavioural needs of young learners and identify the barriers in learning particular activities, lessons which may act as a hurdle for SEN students.
  • Implement approaches to work with children in inclusive settings, including teaching them in a manner to stimulate their interest and enthusiasm in learning.
  • Follow a proactive and systematic approach to teaching young learners in regular and inclusive classrooms and apply the best approaches and apply hands-on knowledge aptly in curricula and instructional strategies development.

Admission Requirement

  • Candidates willing to enrol requires a recognised graduate degree in any field / equivalent level
  • Life Experience and prior learning credits are also applicable
  • Requires English proficiency with a level of - IELTS Level 5.0 or High School study of all subjects in English or at least 55% marks in English in your High School
  • Knowledge of internet and browsing, MS Word and online research skill is required

Program Requirements

All our Master program under Faculty of Education has four distinct part:

  • Part One – Foundation Course which comprises of 10 credits and 1 Subject
  • Part Two – Core Program comes with 30 credits and 6 Subjects
  • Part Three – Specialization of Subjects comes with 20 credits divided into 4 Specialized subjects
  • Part Four – Capstone Project which is a reflective research work comprises of 30 credits

To receive a degree in the programme of study the student must achieve the following:

  • Complete and successfully pass Foundation, Core, Specialization and Capstone Project as prescribed in the programme specification.
  • Obtain a mark of 50% and above to satisfactorily pass each subject as the Capstone Project.
  • Complete the full programme of study in minimum duration of 12 months, and a maximum duration of up to 36 months. After 24 months duration from enrolment date, the student would need to pay a maintenance bench fee for additional months of extension.
  • Students can attend 6 Live Online Webinar Sessions during the year and use one of that as a Capstone Project to complete a reflective paper.

Capstone Project (30 credits) - Choose 1

  • 1. Prepare a paper on any one topic of by attending a one live online webinar from EBC – 5000 words
  • 2. Attend any seminar in Education in your region and create a reflective paper on the same – 5000 words
  • 3. Research Paper – Creating a Supportive Inclusive Learning Environment for pre-primary learners – 5000 words

Refund Policy

Once students register for a course, they are responsible for dropping any course they decide not to attend.

  • Once you have enrolled in the program and you wish to immediately pull out before any access has been granted - 50% of the tuition fee will be refunded
  • No refund for students who have received course access and have already started off with the program from EBC
  • Read all Terms and Conditions before making payments
  • Processing of refunds make take up to 3 months

Scholarship

East Bridge College offers tuition scholarships and financial aid for its online learning degree programs. The tuition scholarship fund for distance learning degree programs will be granted depending on the policy and the Dean’s office from time to time. Upon request, EBC may offer you: Academic Scholarship, Athletic Scholarship, Creative Scholarships and Community Service Scholarship.

Certification

  • Candidates successfully completing the program will be awarded a globally recognised certificate from East Bridge College (EBC)
  • The term ‘Online’ is not mentioned in the degree certificate
  • EBC is registered in the USA (Delaware), United Kingdom (London), The ASEAN Region, Thailand (Bangkok)
  • All EBC learning degrees can be issued and legalized in USA and Thailand
  • Degrees from EBC can be internationally legalized with The Hague Apostille (for Hague signatory countries) or Embassy Legalization (for Hague non-signatory countries)
